People see strange sights at bars. The patrons of Johnny’s Saloon in Huntington Beach, CA witnessed something they aren’t likely to forget.
Around 1:00 AM on Saturday, November 8th, a local man attempted to bring a leashed three-foot alligator into the punk rock bar.
As you might guess, the slow-moving reptile and slow-thinking owner were not welcomed in.
“We received an anonymous phone call that somebody had an alligator in a vehicle,” said Ryan Drabek, spokesman for the Orange County Animal Care.
Sure enough, when police officers arrived, they found the man and his alligator inside his vehicle. A chat with the gentleman convinced officers that they should visit his home.
A second alligator was found at the home. Both reptiles were taken by Animal Control.
The man will not be left empty-handed. The Department of Fish and Game is expected to issue him a citation as keeping alligators as pets is illegal.
