After a recent story that depicted a pit bull shifting the gears of a vehicle at a car wash (http://www.petandanimalnews.com/2008/11/08/pit-bull-takes-car-for-a-wash-and-a-ride/), the beginnings of a trend may have spread to Europe.
On Friday, November 7, homeowners in the town of Skurup, Sweden found that their car had been taken and crashed through a fence and then stopped in the yard of a home.
Local scoundrels were suspected, but no evidence of the guilty parties was found until they peered into the rear seat.
According to TT, a Swedish news agency, a miniature Schnauzer and a Chinese Crested were laying in the back seat, apparently looking very frightened and, perhaps, a little guilty. However, they weren’t hurt.
Calle Persson with the Skane police commented, “The dogs had presumably managed to knock the gear box and put the car into neutral on a downhill slope while their owners were paying a visit to friends.”
Case closed.
