It’s unlikely he will pass the bar, so he won’t be practicing law anytime soon.  However, on Saturday, November 8, Skeeter was awarded a law degree from Baylor University.

Skeeter is a black Labrador retriever who acts as a service dog for Amy Jones.

Amy was restricted to a wheelchair after becoming a quadriplegic.  A 2002 skiing accident caused her condition.

Amy and Skeeter became a team in 2004.  Through rehabilitation and with Skeeter’s support, Amy was ready to return to her undergraduate studies at California State University in Chico, TX.  She graduated in 2005.

The duo was then onto Baylor where the pair won over both students and staff.

One student commented, “everyone loves playing with Skeeter, but Skeeter always knows when he’s working.”

“Amy has busted through brick walls, and Skeeter has been faithfully by her side every step of the way,” law school Dean Brad Toben said. “Skeeter has become a part of our community and part of our family here at the law school.”
